I’ve been trying to update my wardrobe a little bit lately. I think it’s because we’ve reached that point in Winter where it feels like it’s never going to end, I’m going to be stuck inside forever, and I’m never going to wear anything except fleecy hoodies and tracksuit pants for the rest of my life. I needed to breathe a little bit of life back into things, albeit very casually, because I don’t have a lot of commitments right now besides kindergarten drop off and pick up, and the very occasional quick lunch or dinner date with my husband. However, with a squirmy baby who doesn’t like to sit in the pram for long stretches of time, I can’t get out to the shops as often as I want. Thank goodness for online shopping, right? Although that’s not always safe – I was on birdsnestonline browsing and after just fifteen minutes I had seven hundred dollars worth of clothing in my basket. Oops.
So I quietly closed that browser tab and started again. All I wanted was a new top, some flat black ankle boots, and some new black skinnies. Mission accomplished:
Despite all the rain here in Melbourne (seriously, dudes), I’m starting to day dream about warm Summer nights where we can relax outside on the back porch and eat dinner as the sun sets and watch our daughter play in the backyard. Before we moved last year, we only had a very small courtyard space… Continue reading ->
First of all, I will not apologise for the title pun. I’ve realised in the last year or so that whenever I stock up on earrings, usually at Lovisa’s three for two sales, that I tend to exclusively buy stud earrings, always in silver. I do own dangly earrings and a few pairs of hoops… Continue reading ->
Did anyone make it to the Finders Keepers market at the Exhibition Building in Melbourne over the weekend? I went on Friday night and had a great time perusing the stalls and enjoying some child-free time. There were a LOT of really great independent retailers there, but if you couldn’t make it, don’t worry! I’ve… Continue reading ->
Country Road always do great Winter dresses, with great long sleeves (imperative for Winter – short sleeved dresses in Winter ranges drive me bonkers. IT’S COLD. I WANT TO COVER MY ARMS.) Last year there were a couple I saw that I didn’t buy, including a gorgeous black and white one, and I was kicking… Continue reading ->
I bought a few new-to-me products in December, one online, two at Sephora (YAY! I finally went!), and one from Lush, so over the past month I’ve been enjoying the spoils of new skincare and make up, which is always a good thing.
Okay, since last week’s post I’m officially half way through our Christmas shopping, hooray! I’m hoping to have it all knocked over by the end of next week and I think that’s totally doable. Of course, I’m sure there will be one or two last minute gifts to purchase, but as long as the big… Continue reading ->
I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Target is selling the most versatile, easy, comfortable Summer dresses and skirts I’ve seen in ages. Well, that’s not 100% true. I have seen the dresses before – last Summer to be exact, when I breezed through my local Target store and grabbed one to… Continue reading ->
We’re heading to Hawaii for a family holiday soon (fourteen hours on a plane with a toddler – help me Rhonda), and I know I’m going to clothes shop over there, but I wanted to buy a couple of nice things to wear to dinner while we’re there in case I don’t shop straight away…. Continue reading ->
