Fashion – Winter Jumpers
Apr

I’m on maternity leave this year, so my work wardrobe is enjoying its holiday in my drawers for the next little while. However, now that we’re heading into the cooler months, I realised all the winter stuff I wore last year was largely maternity clothing or regular clothes that I bought slightly larger to accommodate my belly. So now none of those items are really looking that great, and with a stash of Westfield birthday vouchers burning a hole in my handbag, I hit up Myer’s weekend super sale to update my casual clothing situation. I am loathe to say it’s my mum wardrobe because for some reason I despise that kind of labelling. You know the one: hashtag luvmykids hashtag LOL hashtag mumstaxi.

HASHTAG VOMIT.

But I do need to acknowledge that I will be spending this year largely at home, feeding a baby and doing kinder drop offs and pick ups, and going to the park, so it’s not like I need to be that dressed up during the week. And just for my own sanity, I don’t like to feel like I’m doing those things in trackie dacks I’ve had for the past three years and a Bonds hoodie with mysterious stains on it despite vigorous washing (it’s probably baby spew, who am I kidding?). So on Sunday we marched into Myer and my husband manned the pram while my daughter and I browsed the racks for some new casual stuff and a few new Winter knits.

Despite all the rain here in Melbourne (seriously, dudes), I’m starting to day dream about warm Summer nights where we can relax outside on the back porch and eat dinner as the sun sets and watch our daughter play in the backyard. Before we moved last year, we only had a very small courtyard space… Continue reading ->

Heel Genius

Bliss hand cream $20 I know we’re in the depths of Winter because in the space of three weeks my hands have become cracked and dry, no matter how much hand cream I slather on them. I was looking at reviews of hand cream and this Bliss one came highly recommended. I already use their… Continue reading ->

Urban Cartel

Did anyone make it to the Finders Keepers market at the Exhibition Building in Melbourne over the weekend? I went on Friday night and had a great time perusing the stalls and enjoying some child-free time. There were a LOT of really great independent retailers there, but if you couldn’t make it, don’t worry! I’ve… Continue reading ->

Country Road Tuck Bodycon Dress

Country Road always do great Winter dresses, with great long sleeves (imperative for Winter – short sleeved dresses in Winter ranges drive me bonkers. IT’S COLD. I WANT TO COVER MY ARMS.) Last year there were a couple I saw that I didn’t buy, including a gorgeous black and white one, and I was kicking… Continue reading ->

Urban Decay Smoky_THUMB

Having a sister who lives in Europe is a tremendously beneficial thing. I got surprised with the latest Urban Decay Smoky Palette at Christmas, which I hadn’t even asked her to buy for me! She was lucky enough to be in Barcelona recently (I know, right?) and visited the massive Sephora store there (seriously, Google… Continue reading ->

Target Dresses_THUMB

I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Target is selling the most versatile, easy, comfortable Summer dresses and skirts I’ve seen in ages. Well, that’s not 100% true. I have seen the dresses before – last Summer to be exact, when I breezed through my local Target store and grabbed one to… Continue reading ->

Beauty – Winter Buys

I don’t spend big all that frequently on beauty products. I buy what I need, when I need it, and I go back and forth between buying new products and staying with old faithfuls that I know work on my normal-to-dry skin. Last week I realised that I’ve tried out a few new things in… Continue reading ->
