Guys, it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday. YOU HAVE TWO DAYS TO ORGANISE SOMETHING. This is your official warning! And please, make it something good okay? The shops all seem to think that all us mothers want is pyjamas, dressing gowns, slippers and maybe some cheap bath and body stuff. I think I speak for all of us when I say we do not.
I mean, we all need pyjamas. And we all need dressing gowns. But Mother’s Day is a day when you should buy your mother something she really wants but wouldn’t buy for herself because she’s being a selfless saint and doing other stuff for other people, right? I’m talking about fashion and lifestyle items that you got using a deal or a coupon so your mother doesn’t do that mother thing where she opens it and loves it and then says “Why did you spend so much on me?” Because everyone’s mother has done that at least once. I will even admit that I’VE DONE IT.
Anyway, I’ve been scouring the web for a few things that some of us mothers (ie. ME) might like to be spoiled with on Sunday. And I figured if I want these things, then you guys probably do as well. Here are few not at all subtle gift suggestions for your mum that have been specially selected by me using some super online store sleuthing. Enjoy!
I raced through Liane Moriarty’s first novel, Three Little Wishes this past weekend and loved it. So readable, and so funny, so I immediately started scouring Booktopia for some good deals on her work and found the latest novel, Big Little Lies at an absolute bargain for $11.95. Total bargain, and your mum will love it.
Instead of a cheap and nasty bath and body pack for mum, why not pop over to Myer and grab some really good quality beauty products like this Kiehl’s Epidermal Re-Texturizing Micro-Dermabrasion? I’m a firm Kiehl’s convert, and I find their products really good value for money in a very crowded skincare market, so I’m sure something like this would go down a treat for mum on Sunday. Plus it doesn’t have the words “anti-wrinkle” in the product name, so it guarantees no feelings will get hurt!
Out and About
We’re all busy, though, and if you just don’t have time to get to the shops between now and Sunday, just jump online and do some poking around on Living Social for a good deal. The Melbourne page is offering a great voucher for Basque Tapas and Wine on Chapel Street for an eight dish Spanish tapas meal. EIGHT DISHES. That’s a lot of tapas. I’ve eaten as Basque a few times and it’s always been delicious. Even more delicious when you’ve found a great coupon, right? Makes those churros just that little bit more yummy.
Whatever you do on Mother’s Day, just remember to spoil her. After all, she used to wash your undies.
