I’ve missed the last two weekends of this series because we were crazy busy, but I did make and drink this smoothie last weekend, I just did not have a minute to post it!
Chocolate Raspberry Smoothie
1 cup of milk (I used unsweetened almond vanilla milk)
1/4 cup of natural yoghurt
1 tablespoon cacao powder
1/2 cup of fresh raspberries
1 teaspoon of honey
Throw it all in the blender and blend until the raspberries are basically pureed.
I have to say, I was really looking forward to this smoothie, but sadly I didn’t enjoy it as much as I’d hoped I would! Ultimately, the tablespoon of cacao powder was WAY TOO MUCh. Next time I’ll bring it down to one teaspoon of cacao powder, because the full tablespoon made the smoothie taste like it was just full of dark chocolate, which I don’t like. Unfortunately, though, I couldn’t get the raspberries to puree enough, so next time I’ll pulse the raspberries on their own to puree them fully. It’s worth noting that I was able to buy a decent sized packet of cacao powder from Coles for about ten bucks which is great. There’s nothing more annoying than trying to be healthy and having to go to three different shops to buy all the ingredients.
I also think this would be great with a dollop of good quality peanut butter in it. It would essentially become a peanut butter and jam sandwich flavour in SMOOTHIE FORM. Genius idea or what?
Until next time,Share this post:
