Style – Summer

Wearing_November 2013
One day, the weather will be nice in Melbourne. ONE DAY.

To prepare for it, I bought a couple of Summery things, and just found some accessories online to go with them.

1. An Afternoon With You Dress in Blue – $48AUD, ModCloth.
I have never had much luck with ModCloth dresses. They seem to made for women who are under five foot tall, because they are always too short in the waist and see to fall just below my bum cheeks, which doesn’t do anyone any favours. So I saw this dress and read the fantastic reviews and decided to order it. I’m so glad I did. This dress is MAGICAL. The fabric is a nice thick jersey, so it’s not see through, the stripes hide my problem areas, and the skirt length falls just below my knee (I’m a very average five foot five inches tall). The skirt also has a cute, swishy twirl to it as I walk. It’s the perfect Summer dress for work, weekend functions, coffee with the girls, or anything really!

2. This is my current handbag. It’s the Oroton Maille Hobo Handbag Tote Shoulder Bag, and I snagged it at the Oroton factory outlet at Brandsmart in Nunawading. The key to shopping there is to wait until they have one of their 50% or 70% off the marked price sales. I bought this on sale for $170 (RRP was about $350). It’s such a nice shade of brown, and the glo-mesh and gold clasp lift it a bit and bling it out without being tacky.

3. Haven Cognac Glove Wedges from Sandler would complete the look ($119.95). Comfy and dressy, without the pain of a full high heel!

Add some sunglasses in a brown or tortoise shell, and a wide brimmed straw hat and you’re all set!

Hey, if you like this outfit, why not pin it? Hover over the image and click the Pin It button to add it to your boards!

Until next time,
